MYSTIC DRAWBRIDGE ICE CREAM CAFÉ “A TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE”
WHERE CAN YOU GO TO GET THE BEST ICE CREAM IN CONNECTICUT?
Boston Globe Magazine and Connecticut Magazine have both awarded Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream Café “BEST ICE CREAM IN CONNECTICUT” for 2013. Yankee Magazine and Cosmopolitan Magazine have also praised this little gem beside the Historic Mystic River Bridge.
In addition to “THE BEST” ice cream in Connecticut, Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream Café also offers a wide selection of HOMEMADE SOUPS, GOURMET SANDWICHES, PANINIS, WRAPS, LOBSTER ROLLS and HOT DOGS plus a LARGE ASSORTMENT OF HOMEMADE PASTRIES all made from scratch from their own recipes.
Cheryl Robdau founded Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream Café with her husband twenty three years ago. As a graduate from Johnson and Wales Culinary Institute, specializing as a pastry chef Cheryl pursued a personal quest, to make “THE BEST” homemade ice creams and fresh baked pastries possible.
In 1990 Cheryl opened her shop alongside the Mystic River in the same store front that had been providing the families and visitors of Mystic a “Tradition of Excellence” for homemade ice creams and sweets for over a hundred years.
Beginning in the 1800’s Randall Brown Jr. sold his delicious homemade ice cream from this storefront. Ebenezer Morgan continued the tradition in his shop called The Riverside Ice Cream Garden followed by John Koulbanis whose ice cream shop existed here until the 1938 hurricane.
Today Cheryl and The Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream Café using the finest pure ingredients continue the “TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE” offering her devoted fans a chance to experience “THE BEST” in culinary treats.
